The Bible uses a race illustration to depict the life of a Christian. The runner must begin the race by giving their lives to Jesus Christ, but it is not the beginning that counts, it is the end! We must finish well in order to please God. A Christian must continue to take steps towards the finish line, regardless of how long one has been leading a Christian life.
